Code Wars was a blast. We enjoyed putting it on and the students loved participating. We also delivered something that was as far as we could tell - unique. A contest with a clear score on the board that determined who won. It was raw competition.
However, over the last couple of years everyone and their brother started sponsoring a hackathon. There were so many events it became impossible to find a weekend when most schools did not have a competing event. Maybe someday if the hackathon craze dies down, we can do it again.
Watch the World Championships playoffs!
Windward’s Student Code Wars are unlike any other code war or hackathon – in this AI strategy game, you go head to head against the best students all over the world. Teams from top universities have just 8 hours to analyze a problem, write the best AI using Python, Java, Microsoft C++, OR C#, create a solution, test it against the entries of the other programming experts, and earn the highest score to win amazing prizes. Strategy and skill are rewarded, but the winning code isn’t always the cleanest. All’s fair in love and war.
